My speciality is : Skiing
“Le ski, c'est la vie :-) (surtout face à la Muzelle !)”
Les Deux Alpes has a special place in Jessica’s heart- and for good reason: as she has been living there from her earliest childhood, it is the place where her passion for snow sports started. When she was two and a half, she put on her first pair of skis and never put them off since then!
Adults, children, competitive skiing… Jessica has been training customers of all ages and all levels for 9 years now. Her teaching experience in L’Alpe d’Huez enabled her to adapt her pedagogy and to discover another skiing areas… Before coming back to her favourite resort! For her, the best skiing area is Bellecombe. More than anything else, Jessica likes venturing into the off-pistes sections that lead to Saint Christophe, such as the unmissable Mounier corridor.
The sensations snow sliding sports convey immediately appealed Jessica. The feeling of fluttering on fresh snow, added to the sensation of speed- source of adrenaline- immediately seduced this thrill-seeker.
In order to make sure that her learners improve in the best possible conditions, Jessica remains attentive and adapts to their goals while transmitting the technical knowledge needed for this sport. She provides all of that in a fun and playful way.
Her experience allowed her to practice competitive skiing for years; Jessica first practiced high-level downhill skiing (slalom, giant, super giant courses…) until 19 before starting practicing skicross (a spectacular discipline that consists in throwing yourself into a technical course with cambered turns, humps and jumps). Awarded Vice Europe Champion in 2012, she twice ranked sixth during World Cups and won the Instructors’ Challenge in 2015 and in 2017. She also ranked 11th of this challenge in slalom.
These competitions allowed her to travel and explore off-piste areas in Cortina d'Ampezzo in the Dolomites (Italy). Jessica explains that off-piste skiing is less accessible there; therefore, she had the opportunity to make the most of sumptuous areas while having the impression of being the only one in the world! These travels and experiences throughout the world enabled her to make a list of the most beautiful ski runs: Streif in Kitzbühel, La Face de Bellevarde, Chuenisbärgli in Adelboden, Lauberhorn in Wengen and Arlberg-Kandahar in Garmisch.
She graduated in the Ecole Supérieure in Grenoble and works in the family estate agency during the rest of the year. She stresses that the advantage in Les Deux Alpes is that “you can ski all year round thanks to the pearl of our resort- the glacier.”
Apart from skiing, Jessica appreciates any outdoor activities, such as climbing, slacklining, via-ferratas, hiking and football.
